Menhir Console

by Giotto Stoppino

With a daring approach to materials, the Menhir low table becomes a composition of colors and textures that eloquently illustrates the sculptural simplicity of Lodovico Acerbis and Giotto Stoppino’s inventions of new forms. With a Greek-like classicism, the table’s column connects the monumental marble base, matte in its contemporary version, to a tabletop available in dark stained walnut, black ash, lacquered and in the new version in cast glass, creating a striking exchange between colors and elements.

Designed in 1983 by Giotto Stoppino and Lodovico Acerbis, the Menhir collection is inspired by the stone monoliths of the British Isles and France, which are the archetype of the column. This research gave rise to the design of a base consisting of a steel column and marble drums with different finishes and shapes placed on top of each other.
