Tense Material dresses up with a new bright red nish, that is warm and intense. It is inspired to the ancient technique of Chinese lacquer, a process involving the manual drafting of the colour and the following application of various layers of transparent polyester, that make the surface smooth and glossy, capable of reecting light and enlivening the table. The table top features a play of shadows, generating a lens eect enhancing colour and depth. Material
Tables featuring a mono-material finish. The important technological innovation it incorporates, combined with the tensioning capacity coof mthpeo nents makes it possible to build tabletops in large sizes. The 35mm thick tabletop is a load-bearing composite board built with an internal frame consisting of either aluminium proles and polystyrene ller. 35x35mm steel legs with internal structural tie-rod. The material stratication process is based on a special mass-coloured concrete resin around 3 mm in thickness which is expertly combined with a binder and applied by hand all over the top in a deliberately irregular and nonuniform way. The subsequent combination of the black patina, rough, dynamic and with lots of shadowy areas, and the surface nish consisting of various layers of polyester, extremely thick, smooth and very glossy, creates an original lens eect notable for its colour and depth.
