Lofty
Designed by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga in 2004, the Lofty is a seating system in mirror polished stainless steel. As the perfect synthesis of technology and craftsmanship, the Lofty is the result of a laborious and lengthy process that entailed the study, design and shaping of steel into sophisticated, minimal geometrics. For The Principle of Lightness Collection, the Lofty has been reimagined as a chair in the original hand polished steel finish. Sketches, mathematics, models and then hundreds of hours to superbly shape, assemble and polish. A top-quality – and heavy – job: the chair reaches an overall weight of 35 kg of pure steel. The frame, body and base are made of mirror-polished AISI304 stainless steel.
