Luca Nichetto

Born in 1976 in Venice, Luca Nichetto belongs to the latest generation of Italian designers. He studied industrial design at the Venice University Institute of Architecture (IUAV), where he graduated in 1998. In 1999 he started his free-lance activity, designing his first products for Salviati, a company that he is still working with today as Designer Manager for the launch of a new collection. Since 2001 he has worked for Foscarini where, along with designing some new products, he also works as a consultant in new material research and product development. He has designed and continues to design for: Foscarini, Salviati, Carlo Moretti, Kristalia, Pandora Design, Líacollection, Calegaro, Nason & Moretti, Arc Internactional, Drake Corporaction. Besides his professional work, he has worked in education, first as a tutor and then as an instructor for the following institutions: Kansas University, IUAV Venezia, La Sapienza Roma, I.R.I.G.E.M Vicenza He has exhibited his work in the following locations: Corning Museum of New York 2001, Surfer,s Den Milan 2004, Pankdora Milan/Venice 2004, Fable and Design Milan 2004, La Caffettiera del Masochista Vicenza 2004, Vivere il cioccolato Perugia 2004, Argenti Padova 2004, Luxury in Living Miami 2004/2005. The O-Space hanging lamp, designed along with Gianpietro Gai for Foscarini in 2003, was chosen as one of the objects that is most representative of Italian design by the traveling exposition LUXURY IN LIVING Italian designers for Italian industries.
