Ferdinand Kramer

Germany

Because of his socially conscious work, Ferdinand Kramer is now unquestionably one of the most important architects and designers of both the early modern period and the post-war modernism period. His architecture and design have been rediscovered only in recent years. Social relevance, longevity, timelessness, versatility, intelligent use of materials, functionality, practicality and understated elegance are all referenced to Kramer's design approach. Kramer's designs still fascinate us today, a radical modernity and an unconditional simplicity that never seems awkward or trite, but always with a special balance of dimensions and proportions and deliberately chosen materials. Decades after original production, some of Ferdinand Kramer’s groundbreaking original furniture designs are for the first time back in production through E15.
