Alberto Meda

Born in Lenno Tremezzina, Italy in 1945. Master in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico of Milan in 1969 after which he worked for Kartell as technical manager and Alfa Romeo Auto as consultant. Later on with Luceplan he became more engaged in design.

He has designed many lamps and won awards such as the Compasso d'Oro (1989) and Createur de l'AnnÈe (1999) for some of these.

He is a well-renouned furniture designer and works for companies such as Alias, Vitra and Kartell. Meda runs his own design studio in Milan and is also a lecturer at the Domus Academy and the Politecnico of Milan. Meda is a master of using innovative materials.
